COUNSELING

GOD KNOWS LIFE ISN'T ALWAYS BLACK & WHITE

If you are experiencing an unwelcome or problem pregnancy, you may be facing some difficult decisions. The All Options Clergy Counseling Service can help by providing honest information about abortion, adoption, and parenthood. Our pro-choice clergy counselors can assist you in making the right choice for your situation.

No horror movies, delay tactics, or intimidation, just confidential counseling with one of our pro-choice, trained, clergy volunteers. Free of charge. Free of guilt. We are here to help.

All Options Clergy Counseling Service volunteers are ordained women and men dedicated to exploring all alternatives surrounding an unwelcome pregnancy, and are committed to the preservation of reproductive freedom. They feel that abortion can be a moral choice. All Options Clergy Counselors have received special training in problem pregnancies, are located in communities throughout Minnesota, represent a wide variety of religious denominations, and are pro-choice.

All Options Counselors can provide:

·          Full honest information about and referral for all options (including abortion) available to women experiencing unwelcome or problem pregnancies.

·          Timely, short-term decision counseling to help women and couples make the right choice for themselves and their families.

·          Spiritual guidance, affirmation and support.

·          Follow-up counseling if desired.

To arrange a counseling session with an All Options Counselor, call one of our confidential numbers. There will be no record of this call on your phone bill.

How the Counseling Service Works

The All Options Service is designed to protect the confidentiality of our clergy volunteers, as well as our clients. If you experiencing an unwelcome or problem pregnancy and would like spiritual counseling, please call one of the All Options Service numbers. You will be asked to provide the Religious Coalition staff person with your name, preference for denomination of counselor, concerns, and a phone number and time of day where you may be safely reached. A clergy counselor will then call you for a phone counseling session or to set up an appointment. We also welcome calls from clinic counselors on behalf of women in need, if that is more comfortable for you.

The All Options Service is not a crisis hotline. It may take several days to arrange a conversation with a clergy person. Counseling is done only on a short term basis for moral or ethical concerns.

For Clergy

We welcome clergy who would like to learn more about how to counsel women and couples experiencing an unwelcome pregnancy. We provide an annual All Options training in which clergy will gain skills that they can use in their pastoral care ministry. Clergy are also invited to become part of our All Options Clergy Counseling Network. Please visit our upcoming events (insert link) to find out more about the next All Options Clergy Counseling Training. For more information, e-mail outreach[at]mnrcrc.org.
